AFA Demos

Here are some art demo pieces from AFA last month. Been busy with work etc and i dont have a computer with me so personal works will have to wait till i get me computer. Ergh! On the other hand, Xmas is coming and I can already feel that magical atmosphere again. Songs playing in the malls, carols on the street, salvation army ringing the bells for donations, Xmas promotions everywhere.. ^^

Oh..and Eva 2.0 was pretty damn good :)

Space Fighter

Heya folks! Been busy...(my usual excuse) Lol.. been thinking about updating but just could not find the time and i've not been painting for my own leisure at all. So here are some personal works done a few months ago. I just miss playing those top scrolling aeroplane/fighter games. I mean..what on earth happened to them? The game industry is just over saturated with RPGs,FPS, Drive Simulations etc etc.. all the confusing espionage, over realistic driving experience and often long winded RPGs. Games no longer sell gameplays, they sell hardcore graphics and lame stories. Im no hardcore gamer to be complainin but i do appreciate it when peeps come up with Loco Roco, Patapon, Odin Sphere. I mean c'mon just because you can go 3D you no longer use 2D? Thats just wrong man.. Anyways, enough of rants and here are some sprites for my own fighter game (if it ever happens :D).

Oh btw, i'll be at AFA this weekend with Storm Lion so if anyone is interested, do drop by to say hi and buy a poster from me :D (shameless meeee)

Okay okay so i thought of just packin in one last update. Some personal work done a few weeks ago. With these i had lots of fun experimenting Especially image no.3 with that psychedelic erm..inverted color look. Reminds me of Tron :D. Alright, thats all folks! hope you guys like it.

Taking off to a new horizon (not too far away)

So i'll be leaving my country for my new job at Storm Lion on the 26th of Oct in the lovely land of Singapore. Still packing, still finishing off some work and still feeling drowsy. Nevertheless im very excited about the whole thing, working in a new environment and making new friends. Just thinking about working with Zid, Puppeteer, Skan, Julian (Lefty), Edmund & Friends is already a gift by itself.

This would prolly be my last post from M'sia and it might be a while before you guys hear from me again so before i leave i would obviously like to thank PR for the wonderful experience. Thank you all at PR from the earliest members to the latest. My hats off to you guys and best of luck in everything.

Learned a hell lot of stuff within these 3 years i seriously feel the age factor kicking in ><. To everyone reading this, i hope things has been working out for everyone (i know it has been a tough year) so keep believing and keep working on your goals and dreams. Be patient be mindful.

Planet Race : Ofura

Another full piece practice. I'll prolly start a series theme sorta thing for this so that it'll push me into doing more environments. I'm actually not very happy with the pallete of this piece but lazy me would just get it over with -__-... Maybe something with a more dynamic angle/framing for the next one? LOL..those are sponge trees btw..not sure what they do though ..suck up the moisture in the air?? *Shrugs.. OOooooooo.........who lives in a pineapple under the sea?!!

Horned Helm Druid

Lalala..some fantasy work. The fun thing about this design was trying to use the birds tail to look as if the hunter is wearing a torn cape. Though not very practical but makes for a fun silhouette. All my characters have small head.. -__-

Abondend ATV

I definitely dont get around doing Production Paintings enough. Gotta work on more environments as well. Wanted to do a jungle/rain forest piece after watching AVATAR's
teaser trailer again.

I must admit that i did not find it appealing at first but its starting to grow
on me now. Planet Pandora is simply wicked! Thing about Jim is that its never about the action
and the VFX, instead its always down to the characters and the heart in the story AND i believe
Avatar is gonna be great as a movie experience in the big screen...

Cant wait to visit Pandora baby XD.

Tarot The Lovers

My 7th Tarot The Lovers. This piece is inspired by Calyxus version of the card. I just did my take on it and hopefully i did not screw it up for her ;__;. Oh this was done with lots of Classical Music and of course J S Bach's Air Suite.

Hard Boiled Madness

Yes im from dinosaur age and im outdated but i only recently got my hands on Geof Darrow's Hard Boiled Graphic Novel. Apparently its not available in my "beloved" country because the comic is not about camels and pyramids.

But Check this out, Hard Boiled is an Ass kickin, Balls Smashing piece of work. With Geof Darrow as the cover/interior artist and Frank Miller as the writer.. you cant go wrong. Hard Boiled is filled with eye candy for those who enjoy pictures more than words and still have a creatively written story. Every page takes you at least 10 minutes to finish seeing the amount of detail Mr. Darrow puts in and the hardwares look so good like i could grab it off the page.

Bottom line, must read and i cant wait to get my hands on 'Shaolin Cowboy' and 'Big Guy & Rusty'
Back to work.

Scottish Vulture Head

Haha.. i did the rest of the body for Scottish Vulture Head. So instead of the typical "bat wing" for the wings, i went for a feathered wing which also relates to theories of dinosaurs slowly turned feathered and became birds. I kinda like the 2 different schemes here. Whady'all fink?

Here's a bunch of Dragon Heads i did a while ago together with The Dragon Rider pieces. As usual i come up with silly names for em but WTH. Would like to draw the rest of the dragon of these heads, any preference?

Tarot Cards and the Hunter

The top piece is a quickie before bed last night. TheCards is me trying to be all illustrative
trying to do my own take on the Tarot. Obviously there are more than 20+ cards or more in the original deck but i only managed 6 by far and 2 of which i would like to change. The Devil is not working..at all, death is what i would call hard sell holding a silly halloween skull. Oh and all of the art here is done from a single painting. Sorta like paintover over paintovers XD which is why they all look the same.
