This is so cool. Ever since MGS digital graphic novel, animated shorts like these seems to be an alternative to big budget animations and this short proves that you can achieve quite a huge amount and variety of content even in this limited medium. I've always been thinking about my KAMI project wether to push for a full3D short or this sort of short limited 2D animations.

A Kiss From Tokyo is very well executed from a film's point of view and it manage to pull of old skool film elements such as composited life smoke and explosions, the cuts and fades are classical and i especially adore the multi planing effect on the background of that "Alfred Hitchcock" car ride thing.. Awesome.

Okay so i digg graphic design and i love movie posters :D and i had a great opportunity to work on a movie poster for a friend of mine. Dick Chua, an upcoming film Director in Malaysia's film scene. He wanted something retro, graphic, and simple. So this is what we settled with in the end. I did a bunch of different versions but this just felt right. All the best to the upcoming screening and i cant wait to see the poster in print lols. *Shameless

Star Craft 2 Dark Templar

More fanart for Star Craft! Will this make it to Blizzcon? lol. I had a lot of fun working on this piece. I wanted to extend the concept of a dark templar Samwise did. The one with Zerg armor, i like that. :D Yea the lineart has got one leg missing, stupid me.

DW IV Finale~

As the dateline draws close, i did not wanna jam the traffic at the entry so i handed my finals in early and of course after seeing Paul updated his finals i could not help but update mine aswell XD...

There are way too many awesome entries this year around.. I'll name em later,Not done going through all the entries yet. To those who manage to finish, i salute you. It was one hell of a fun ride doing this. There was a point when i did not even care about submissions lol.. so as you can see the layout of the works are pretty...pre mature. lol.As its obvious too that i failed misserably at the "comic cover" style.. (Honestly i wish i came up with a more original concept) Lesson learned.

So anyhow, i had fun and i sure hope everyone else did. Grawnny Boy, im proud o yeh. You'll make a fine post apocalyptic woodcutter. ;P

Bunch of sketches i did on and off here and there. The middle piece was pure experimental and pure influence from one of my fav artists of all time Mr. Rakgadjet and also works that are from the manga/anime style side of mua.. ><. Last piece was just some insect/crustacean creature practice.

Wepons Final

Im currently working on the final beauty pose for Grawnn, so until thats done here are more of the weapons. If you guys aren't sick of it yet :D. Painted over this but am not happy with the layout at all. Ergh! But no more time for this. I have to finish by final piece and thank god for the extentsion. :D

For the final illustration, im trying to push for this 80s-early 90s heavy metal comic style. Sorta like the Grindhouse of comics lol. Artists like Simon Bisley and etc...Hardcore Gritty kickass Sh!T

STAR TREK

Just watched it with my bro and gosh. Jaw Dropping..*Spoiler ahead
-Romulans were BAD!! ASS!!! Visual quality is by far most epic (of course not compared to 2001)
-Storyline was 7/10 for me but treatment is top notch! Most importantly, i think there's heart in it.
-The most flare/lens flare/bokeh i have ever seen in one film and done very stylishly. Love it!
- CG was of course top notch aswell (ILM, so ...yea)
- San Fran got drilled by the Romulans..why not KL? lol (ILM says "ah,..we can just get the principal photography outside of our office. We can see Golden Gate very well from here.)
-Music lived up to the epic-ness and still had a very classic thing going.

All of all 6and a half to 7 out of 10 for me. Thats pretty damn high, 2001 Space Odyssey to me is 9/10. So for a typical Hollywood film, thats pretty high :D. I think it's gonna be my fav film of the year... what? transformers? lol, i dont know man...more robots, not sure if its a good thing, but i'll give Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci a chance since Star Trek was good? Hmmm.. Terminator? Hope the story has some heart in it. Only film to look forward to now is James Cameron's AVATAR..
I feel so geeky. Such a sad thing that Star Trek seems so dead around here. No publisity whatsoever. Everyone is focusing on Wolverine.. gee c'mon! I mean, a guy with a funny hairdo running around with his claws that could cut through a helicopter's propeller? Just does not work for me man... sorry. Ooppss.. blabbered too much.
